Yu Televentures, sub-brand of Micromax will be launching their flagship smartphone – Yunicorn, on May 19th in India. The company has already send invites of the event. One of the highlights of the device is that while it runs on Android, it’ll be integrated with Around Yu, a service aggregator platform that was introduced last year. Yu Televentures has informed that interested buyers can get the smartphone from their store online.
Speaking ofAround Yu,Yu Televentures CEO Rahul Sharma made announcements explaining that the new platform will act as a source code bank for developers. Using this platform, anyone can easilydownload source codes and play with them on different devices. Also known as the‘Project Highway’, the platform is full of source codes fromQualcomm, MediaTek, Google etc. Users can gain access to these once the device is rolled out. But before end-users can lay their hands on it, in-house developers of the company need need to go through it.
To recall, it was only last monththat Yu launched their first phablet called the Yureka Note. Priced at Rs 13,499, the device is available for purchase in all online retail stores currently. Yureka Note supports a6-inch full HD display (protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 3) with 1920×1280 pixels resolution. The device is powered by a1.5GHz MediaTek processor that comes paired with 3GB of RAM. Thephablet features a 16GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded via a microSD card.
