Yahoo Released the Upgraded Messenger App

On Friday 29th July 2016 Yahoo revealed the upgraded messenger app for Windows and Mac. The messenger app will be apt for sending messages and also animated graphic interchange formats or GIF. Last December the messenger platform was improved for the Web and mobile users to strengthen the ability to send (and unsend) messages, photos, and GIFs. Now it is going one step further with its availability as a desktop app for Windows and Mac after many changes. Verizon might have bought Yahoo for $4.8 billion. Now the Users can share multiple photos at once by using the drag and drop feature. The app also comes with some desktop notifications.

The best part of this app is the ‘un-send’ facility that is kind of unique. The new features will entitle them to be almost equal to Flickr, Tumblr, and Yahoo’s Xobni smart address book. A last-minute typo now can be taken back tap “Unsend,” or recall messages and the offending message will vanish from the conversation.

But the new added features has some shortcomings. Like anyone can take a screenshot of the content and photos before it disappears. The upgraded Yahoo Messenger desktop app will be available to download on Windows and Mac from August 5.

But it is true that Yahoo took a lot of time to launch its upgraded version as the market is already too engrossed with the other popular apps like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Snapchat, etc. So no doubt the competition will be tough for Yahoo.
