Xiaomi Yi 4K Action Camera Launched, With 12MP Sony Sensor in China

Xiaomi Yi 4K is a successor of Yi Action Camera 2. The upcoming camera is available in Pink, Blue and White colour options. The device is priced atCNY 1199 (approx Rs 12,500) and when the device comes along with a Bluetooth remote and selfie stick, its priced at CNY 1299 (approx Rs 12,500). At the present moment is available for order in China. According to Fonearena, the Yi4K Action Camera will be shipped to backers in June.

Xiaomi is a privately owned Chinese company that develops, designs, and sells consumer electronic products. The company also manufactures tablets, TVs, fitness trackers, and air purifiers.

As the name suggests, the camera can shoot 4K videos at 30fps and record full HD videos at 120fps and high definition videos at 240fps. The camera houses a 12MP Sony IMX377 image sensor (1/2.3-inch size) which comes with a7P lens with f/2.8 aperture and 155 degree angle of view. Time lapse can be shot with intervals of0.5 / 1 / 2 / 5 / 10 / 30 / 60 seconds.

Speaking of other specifications, the camera has got2.19-inch display that is protected by aCorning Gorilla Glass protection on the rear side of the device. Yi 4K comes with dual-band Wi-Fithat’ll enable the camera to connect to Android smartphones. It’ll be powered bythe Ambarella A9SE SoC that supportsthe H.264 codec.

For editing of image and videos, the camera comes with a separate app. The device comes with a microSD card slot and dual microphones for capturing sound. The Xiaomi Yi 4K Action Camera is powered by1400mAh battery that the company promises will shoot 2 hours worth of 4K footage.

There is no news on when the device will be available outside the country. As for when the camera will be available in India, Xiaomi largely sells its devices via online flash sales. Keep an eye on this space to find out when the device will hit international market.
