Ahead of the July 27 event in China, Xiaomi has begun hinting that the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Pro smartphone may feature an Oled display, dual camera and will probably be powered by a deca-core processor.
Xiaomi published the first Xiaomi Redmi Pro teaser on Weibo where celebrity Chef Liu Shi Shi claimed to cook an “Oled Ping”. Many believe this indicates at the presence of an Oled display upfront. Shi Shi made another post in Weibo where Shi was making a “ten nuclear double stem head” dish which appears to indicate that the Redmi Pro may feature a deca-core MediaTek MT6797M processor that’ll come packed with 3GB RAM. It’s worth noting that previous leaks had suggested that the handset may also have a 4GB of RAM variant.
According to rumours, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro will run MIUI on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A couple of days back the handset was soptted on Geekbench benchmark where it scored 1218 in single-core tests and 4183 on multi-core test.
Some previous Redmi Pro leaked images showed tha the handset will sport a metal unibody with antenna bands on top and bottom of the device. The handset is expected to come with two rear cameras vertically, right below each other.The voulme and power buttons will be seen on the right hand side of the phablet.
According to a Russian tech site Mobiltelefon, Xiaomi will launch two variants of Redmi Pro – with 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM. The 3GB RAM will be powered by MediaTek Helio X20 SoC while the 4GB RAM will get the slightly faster Helio X25 chipset. In past the company has shown a trend where they frist announce a smartphone with MediaTek processors in China and follow up with a Snapdragon version in other parts of the world.
It’s worht noting that the Redmi 3 released earlier this year, has been called the most popular smartphone in India, Russia, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia.
