After the massive success of the Redmi Note 3 in India, which was launched back in March, Xiaomi is all set to unveil yet another smartphone in India in the next week, named as the Xioami Redmi 3S. The phone is expected to hit the market shelves as early as the first week of August.
The Redmi 3S was released in China back in June this year, and it was launched two variants, depending upon the memory and the inbuilt storage capacity of the handset. Although the Chinese company has not spilled the bean about the pricing of the smartphone in India, the 2GB of RAM with 16GB of inbuilt storage variant is priced at CNY 699 (almost Rs. 7200) in China whereas the 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage model is priced at CNY 899 (almost Rs. 9,200). Redmi 3S is currently available only in China and India will be the device’s first overseas market.
If we talk about the Xiaomi Redmi 3S features, the handset sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with 720×1280 pixels resolution. Apart from that, the phone also flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) technology, f/2.0 aperture, 1080p video recording capability, HDR mode, and LED flash. The Redmi 3S also includes a 5-megapixel secondary camera at the front side with 1080p video recording capability and f/2.2 aperture for taking better selfies. This latest smartphone from the house of Xiaomi runs on company’s very own MIUI 7 OS which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
As per the specifications, the all new Redmi 3S houses a brand-new octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at 1.1GHz and coupled with Adreno 505 GPU, under the hood. The handset also supports expandable storage up to 128GB through microSD card. This dual-SIM device (Micro + Nano) also comes with a hybrid SIM slot; that means the second SIM slot can also be used as a microSD slot. The Redmi 3S differs from the original Redmi handsets in terms of security measures. The upcoming Redmi 3S packs with a fingerprint scanner at the back panel, which is a massive improvement over its predecessor.
The Redmi 3S comes with all the modern day connectivity facilities, such as 4G, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Glonass, and Micro-USB. The device is powered by a 4100mAh battery similar to the original Redmi 3. Dimension wise, the handset measures 139.3×69.6×8.5mm and weighs only 144 grams. The phone comes in three color variants, and they are Gold, Silver, and Grey.
