Xiaomi India will unveil the black colour variant of its Mi 5 flagship smartphone. The smartphone will go on sale from today via Amazon India and Flipkart.

Xiaomi had launched Mi 5 in the country back in March when the smartphone was available in only in white. Only the 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in variant were available in India. And although there was a want for other options, the company didn’t bring in new configurations until now. Earlier this month White Mi 5 was made available on Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Tata Cliq, abandoning the Mi.com exclusivity for the smartphone. Last month the Global Vice President Hugo Barra informed a renowned gadget website that they were working on bringing the Mi 5 Black colour variant to India soon.

Xiaomi posted on their Facebook page explaining that they’ll soon launch the Gold coloured variant of MI 5 in India but did not specify when.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is a dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) smartphone that features a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) with curved 3D Ceramic glass, along with a pixel density of 428ppi. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor that comes coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 rear camera sensor with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and LED flash. The rear camera also sports 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation) and sapphire glass protection lens and 4K video recording. The 4-megapixel front snapper comes along with  2-micron pixels and like the rear camera features a f/2.0 aperture.
