South Korean car maker Hyundai-owned Kia Motors has finally released the images of the third-generation Picanto which will be debut in Geneva Motor Show in March. This new car is designed in Namyang, Korea and Frankfurt, Germany and is coming with all-new styling and a host of new features. It is the smallest of offering from the South Korean carmaker Kia’s and some best-selling cars of them have a great following in the UK and European markets. Now the great news is Picanto is ready to set its foot to India soon.
According to the revelation, the new Picanto comes with Kia’s sports-inspired ‘GT-Line’ specifications that consists the new aggressive body kit, bolder character lines and the sculpted surface and flashy red accents. The car will get Kia’s signature grille in black chrome and red highlights. It also has new larger headlamps with projector units and U-shaped LED daytime running lights with eyebrow-like LED light above each headlamp.

The 2017 Kia Picanto powertrain range will include a 1.0-litre, turbocharged, three-cylinder unit where the mill will be offered in two state of tunes-99bhp and 118bhp. According to the speculation, the base models to get cost-effective naturally aspirated units. Themanual gearbox will be standard, which will offer an automatic transmission as well depending upon the market.
The side profile of the latest model has also been updated with new design for the doors, new ORVM, and new alloys. The wheelbase of the car has been increased by 15mm and now measures 2400mm instead of 2385mm. This means more space inside the cabin.
If the news to be taken, the new Picanto will go on for sale at the end of the third quarter of 2017, globally. It also hints that Kia Motors is expected to start India operations this year and it hints that the new model will be available in both in petrol and diesel options. There are a great number of details which is not known yet, like the price or the actual release date. But it pretty seems will be till the end of the year. The car will compete in the market against Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
