As per iBtimes, the primary reason behind the show’s failure is the incredible popularity of SBS’ The Legend Of The Blue Sea.

It’s worth mentioning, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo season 1 has a rating 92% out of 10031 votes at Asia Wiki. The show even won Excellent Actress (mini-series) (Lee Sung-Kyung) and Best New Actor (Nam Joo-Hyuk) at the 2016 MBC Drama Awards.
