Good news for Volvo fans. The all-new and extremely powerful Volvo S60 Polestar. The new Polestar will arrive on Indian shores on April 14. This is the first time that the performance arm of Volvo, known for the safest car in the world, is debuting in India. Both the S60 sedan and the S60 Estate will arrive at the same time. This is the first time that these car will arrive in India and eager customers have sensed an opportunity to test these vehicles out before they make a purchase decision.

India apparently will see only the S60 Polestar sedan which will see the current S60 T6 petrol sedan, which belts out a massive 306hp and will only see that the new sedan is replaced. As is the custom with all new Volvos, the S60 Polestar will stick to the traditional Volvo method of downsizing the bigger engines with smaller units. The new Volvo S60 Polestar will come with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. This is in stark contrast to the older models which use a 3.0-litre six-cylinder unit.

Also on the cards is a 2.0-litre unit which is turbocharged besides being supercharged. This unit will have enough power to belt out 367hp along with 470Nm of torque. The four-wheel drive vehicle will be aided by the power being sent to all four wheels via an impressive eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Volvo S60 Polestar will also come with mechanical and cosmetic updates which include larger brakes, a stiffer suspension which is also turbocharged, with a more masculine and aggressive body kit. This new car will also come equipped with a larger 20-inch Polestar alloy wheels.

Come to the changes made in the car and we find that sports seats up front are present, which, together with nubuck leather upholstery and a carbon fibre trim insert which will replace the standard wood or aluminum inserts. The price at this pint in time is not known. This new Volvo will be positioned against the likes of the Mercedes-AMG C43 and the Audi S5 Sportback.
