The announcement of Volkswagen Ameo has been made, and it will start accepting bookings from May 12, 2016. Volkswagen will give their customers the opportunity across these cities (Pune, Surat, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Chennai, Cochin, Nagpur, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bhubaneshwar, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Mumbai) to see the car and confirm the booking.
The Volkswagen Ameo will compete with the Ford Figo Aspire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Tata Zest. Though, the team Volkswagen is too confident about their market and business in India. It is said that Ameo will try every possible help to Volkswagen to reach out to the customers in Tier II and III markets.

One of the best features is its dual front airbags and ABS that will be standard on all variants of the Ameo. According to Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars:

The Volkswagen Ameo will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The car is coming with two engine options – 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder MPI petrol and 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder TDI diesel, and the Volkswagen Ameo petrol will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. It has a special carbine designed specifically crafted for Indian consumers. The 1.2-liter MPI unit develops 75 PS and 110 Nm of torque.
