Under the new Red Postpaid calling scheme, Vodafone India has announced an unlimited roaming plan starting at Rs 1,999. The plan offers some other amenities like incoming voice calls, unrestricted roaming, 500 free messages, and 8GB data for either 3G or 4G customers.
There’s another Vodafone plan, available for Rs 1699, and it offers similar features but only 6GB data. Under this plan, all outgoing calls in roaming will be charged at Rs 0.50 per minute. In both the above plans, data usage above the mentioned quota will be applied with a surcharge of Rs 0.50 per megabyte.
Vodafone director (commercial) Sandeep Kataria said: “The postpaid customer’s usage behavior has evolved significantly with higher usage of roaming and data. With the new Vodafone RED we are offering our postpaid customers an all-in-one plan that addresses their roaming, data, and voice needs comprehensively.”
Idea Cellular and Airtel recently introduced various schemes for cost reduction for their customers. Airtel made plans to cut down costs for prepaid customers by offering up to 67% more data at the same fees. Airtel has recently launched its ‘myPlan Infinity’ plan, that starts at Rs 1,199 and offers unlimited voice calling for postpaid users. It includes local, STD and roaming calls, that’ll be available for all postpaid customers and other amenities like 100 free SMS each day, unlimited free calling, free subscription to Wynk Movies/Wynk Music and 1GB of 3G/4G data. Airtel has a similar Rs 1,599 plan but with 5GB of 3G/4G data. The highest plan available is for Rs 2,999, and it offers 20GB of data.
Idea had reduced the rates of its packs by up to 45% for light internet users who use up less than 1GB of data just last week. Soon Vodafone followed the trend. The UK-based company revised their data plans that’ll supply up to 67% more data than before.
