Amid a rare politico-personal feud within Son-Father duo, who also happens to be SamajwadiParty chief and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav as well as the Party’s supremo, Mulayam Singh Yadav, the tiff for Party’s symbol has finallycome to an end. The fight for owning Party symbol ‘Cycle’ has been handed over to present CM Akhilesh Yadav and not his Father and party’s supremo. With assembly polls coming ahead, the Party went through alot of twists and twirls with Son turning up against Father and his Uncle along with old allies and opposition parties winning up a chance over in UP Elections 2017.
Backed by a majority of party members as compared to Mulayam Singh, Akhilesh’s win can be termed as a moment of pride as well as troublesome as Mulayam and his team may move to Court against the decision by the committee. The story comes as the Election Commission granted the disputed symbol Akhilesh today late in the evening which was headed by a three-member team led by Nasim Zaidi which was locked with its decision on January 13, itself. The judgement came after examining all the reliable documents signed by Party members thus giving full support to the young leader Akhilesh Yadav.
The panel stated as the symbol of Cycle deserved to be in the hands of Akhilesh as he himself is the Samajwadi Party. The dispute erupted on January 1, 2017, when Mulayam Singh was made the Party patron leading to the feud occurring between Father and Son. The unhealthy terms led to a series of shreds of evidence of Uncle being evicted from the party along Mulayam Singh officially making an announcement of throwing Akhilesh from the party. However, a maximum of MPs, MLAs and other members being on the side of Akhilesh, the symbol given to the CM ahead of the upcoming UP Elections 2017.
As per latest develops, Akhilesh and Mulayam both are willing to discontinue the ‘Cycle’ symbol as Akhilesh wishes to own symbol of ‘Motorcycle’ wherein Mulayam Singh Yadav zeroing on a symbol of ‘Farmer with a plough’.
