Triumph Unveils All-New Street Triple 765: The Old Favourite Stuns in a New Avatar

Triumph Motorcycles, the British motorcycle major, has recently unveiled its newTriumph Street Triple 765 motorcycle in three variants, the Street Triple S, Street Triple R and Street Triple RS. These three variants will each cater to different groups of users and enthusiasts. All three variants boast of the new 765cc 3-cylinder engine derived from the Daytona racerwhich has been boosted for optimum performance, technology and suspension for each group. This new engine is seen to be the hope in the biking middleweight segment.

Triumph Street Triple 765 Specs and Features

The base model is the Street Triple S with the Street Triple R and the Street Triple RS being positioned as the mid to luxury category. The Street Triple S produces 111bhp and 73Nm of torque with the Street Triple R revving out 116bhp and 77Nm, while the bigger Street Triple RS putting out 121bhp and 77Nm of torque. This new engine derived from the Daytona racer includes 80 new parts andNikasil-plated aluminium barrels with increased bore and stroke, all of which will aim to improve performance. The Street Triple RS also boasts of clutchless shifting which comes as an added feature on the Street Triple R and the Triple S. The new Triumph Street Triple 765 range also features a ride-by-wire throttle with five riding modes, Road, Rain, Sport, Rider Programmable and Track. The Trackmode is only available on the Triple RS variation. Riders can now enjoy a new five-inch TFT instrument panel which is adjustable on the Street Triple R and Street Triple RS while the Streettriple S retains the LCD instrument pack from the currently available Speed Triple series. A 5-way joystick control for better manoeuvrability is provided.

In keeping with the new engine, Triumph has ensured that the suspension specs, braking systems and tyre specs are improved or radically altered to ensure a smooth yet powerful ride. The new Triumph Street Triple series also boasts of seats which have been newly designed to ensure a sportier feel. The upper-class Street Triple RS also features Diablo Supercorsa SP tires for better performance. The Street Triple S comes in Diablo Red or Phantom Black colour options while theStreet Triple R comes in Jet Black, Matte Aluminum Silver or Crystal White and the Street Triple RS comes in Matte Silver Ice or Phantom Black.

Triumph Street Triple 765 Price and Launch

The Street Triple 765 range starts from 8,000 or Rs 6.66 lakh as listed on their UK website. However, this source suggests that the motorcycle, when it ships to India, will have a starting price of around Rs 9 lakh. No clear launch dates have been announced as of yet. The new motorcycle is expected to take biking enthusiasts by storm when it does launch.
