It is that time of the year when companies disclose their year-end data. Google has already given the list of its top apps on Google Play and best videos on YouTube Rewind 2017. But the list is not finished yet. The search giant has this time discovered a list of trending Google Searches both internationally and country-wise. The data is categorized under diverse topics such as Overall, Near me, How To, What is and more.

According to Google’s ‘Year in Search 2017’ data, the most trending search for the year 2017 in India was:

  • Indian Premier League
  • Live Cricket Score
  • DangalHalf Girlfriend
  • Badrinath ki Dulhaniya
  • Munna Michael
  • Jagga Jasoos
  • Champions Trophy
  • Raees

As for the ‘How To’ section, Indians looked How to..

In the ‘What is’ section, the top searches which were done are:

  • What is a BS3 vehicle
  • What is peta
  • What is Jio Prime
  • What is Cassini
  • What is a fidget spinner
  • What is a lunar eclipse
  • What is ransomware

On the international level, top five searches included Hurricane Irma, iPhone 8, iPhone X, Matt Lauer and Meghan Markle. Top five in the ‘How to’ section had public asking how to make slime, make solar eclipse glass, buy bitcoin, watch Mayweather vs McGregor and make a fidget spinner.

In 2017, users around the world searched for Apple iPhone 8, iPhone X, Nintendo Switch, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Xbox One X in the ‘Consumer Tech’ version. The latter half of the list includes Nokia 3310, Razer Phone, Oppo F5, OnePlus 5 and Nokia 6.
