News about Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, the upcoming title from Ubisoft, has been pouring in over the past week as we slowly inch towards its release date. One of the most anticipated games of 2017, the tactical shooter game has seen a lot of interest from fans for its detailed, relatable depiction of a country taken over by a powerful drug cartel. In previous instances, the developers have not shied away from sharing valuable information about the creative processthat has gone into making that depiction realistic. And now they have given us a glimpse into the map structure of the game.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will be one of the biggest, most expansive open world titles to come out of Ubisoft in recent times, and the extensive research that the devs have put in to make it like that speaks for itself. Up until now, we had seen screenshots that depict the different terrains that will befeaturedas part of the varying landscapes- they range from mountain ranges to grasslands and even cover water bodies of different sizes. But as for the map itself, we were but in the dark. But now, thanks to Ubisoft, we now have an idea of what we can expect.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands’ world is set in modern day Bolivia-“the most beautiful and dangerous place in the world”. The map is divided into 21 regions with 11 different ecosystems to reflect the lush landscapes found in the country. According to Polygon, not only will each region have its own civilian population, major towns, and rural areas, they will also portray the different industries that have spawned in eachlocale. The different non-playable characters that we will come across will all have their own way of life, regardless of whether we involve ourselves with them or not. The different ecosystems will also be replete with their own unique flora and fauna. Not much more has been revealed, but we think we’ll find out more in the weeks to come.
