Thirunaal (2016) Plot and Storyline
Thirunaal is a village-centric movie which tells the story of a young rowdy boy, Blade Ganesh who falls in love with a kindergarten teacher Vithya and tries to change his life accordingly. The movie Thirunaal starts with Ganesh’s, portrayed by Jiiva, careless, thug life, daredevil attitude and rustic image. Most of the time, Ganesh holds a blade in his mouth and thus acquires his name Blade Ganesh. One day, he falls in love with beautiful kindergarten teacher of the village Vithya, the character played Nayanthara, and changes his heart and lifestyle to impress her. But, Blade Ganesh’s has to deal with his past deeds and has to face the consequences. He tries to solve all the issues with love & tenderness and gradually overcomes all the problems and leads a happy life with Vithya. The message the director tries to convey in the movie Thirunaal is that one can lead a happy, peaceful life even without indulging in criminal activities.

Both Jiiva and Nayanthara looks sizzling in Thirunaal and recreates the magic on the screen which was the sole reason their previous movie ‘E’ got so much success in the silver screen. After producing back to back to flop movies, Jiiva has given his all in Thirunaal, while Nayanthara is currently going through her purple patch and seems it will continue for this movie too. Karuna has also done well, and his comic timings are superb in the film. The most part of the movie has been shot in in Thanjavur and Kumbakonam, this the movie is a treat for the eyes in terms of cinematography.
Thirunaal Review: Music
Srikanth Deva has given the music of Thirunaal and the lyrics have been penned by Muthu Vijayan, Jeevan Mayil, and P.S Ramnath. The movie has total six songs and all have got good responses. Renowned singers of the South Indian movies, such as Velmurugan, D.Imman, S Janaki, Ranjith, Abhai Jodhpurkar, and Namitha have given their voices in the songs.
