The Vampire Diaries Season 8

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 5: Sinister is definitely the word which can describe the current premise of The Vampire Diaries which is currently into its eighth season. Every single incident seems to be getting more and more complicated and it seems that Stefan(Paul Wesley) is finally on the verge of giving up on Damon(Ian Somerhalder) getting his humanity back.

And Damon seems as vile as ever, by the looks of the teaser promo released for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 5.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 4 titled “An Eternity of Misery”, saw a large number of revelations which in turn forced Stefan to reflect upon his own life and deeds. It all started with Sybil(Nathalie Kelly) telling Stefan the story of her “sister,” a fellow psychic she met after being exiled to an island by the people of her home village a long-ass time ago. (Like, 750 B.C.) While Sybil only wanted to use her powers for good, her “sister” preferred using them to lure sailors and feed on them.  Forcing him to confront his own part in current affairs, Sybil asked Stefan which sibling he really is — the one who’s been forced down a dark path, or the one who was a man-eating monster all along.

Sybil’s “sister” was revealed to be none other than Caroline(Candice King) and Alaric’s (Matthew Davis) nanny Seline (Kristen Gutoskie), and it turns out Georgie (Kristen Gutoskie) was working for her.

Will Damon succumb totally to the Sirens?

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 5 will see Stefan take a very important decision after his attempts to bring back Damon’s humanity failed drastically.

In the past four episodes, what we have clearly seen is that the older Salvatore had turned off his humanity switch quite willingly to succumb to Sybil’s psychic powers but there is always hope among The Vampire Diaries enthusiasts that the ‘bad boy’ protagonist will come back to his senses soon. However, the extended promo for the Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 5 reveal that Damon does intend to take down his close ones, one at a time( Obviously under the influence of Sybil’s psychic powers) and with Elena’s memory wiped off his mind, there is no telling whether he’ll ever find that missing shred of humanity back.

Will Stefan have to take a ground-breaking decision?

The promo for the latest episode does see Stefan say the words” We have to put him down” very clearly and that might just mean a lot of things. One of the two last remaining survivors of the Salvatore family, Stefan vowed to do anything to bring Damon back from the grasps of the Siren but now that it is clearly eminent that his close ones are in grave danger, the younger Salvatore might just be compelled to take a step. Unwilling to give up on his brother, Stefan is forced to make a gut-wrenching decision that threatens to change their relationship forever.

Meanwhile, in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 Episode 5, Caroline Forbes will be giving advice to Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) on how they can break Enzo St. John (Michael Malarkey). Sheriff Matt Donovan received a box of messages and in this episode, he’ll try to decode and understand what the messages are for.

Also doing the rounds are rumours of Nina Dobrev returning to the show not as Elena Gilbert but as Katherine Pierce, which might again take the show in a different direction.

Here is a look at the promo for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 5 Promo.
