The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 13: As the long-running American supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries is inching towards an end with its final season on the brink of a closure, the plot is thickening quite predictably. The most significant piece of news pertaining to this hugely successful TV series has been the confirmed return of Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert in the finale of the show, later down the line.
The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 12 titled ‘ What are You‘ saw many significant developments in the storyline, the highlight of which was Kai, who was seen in the dying moments of the episode as he comes to assist Damon and Alaric in their attempts to kill Cade. This particular surprise, however, was predicted by many when the news of Elena’s return broke with many speculating that Kai would be the one who would break the spell which was binding Elena’s life to Bonnie’s. Although Kai’s character has been a rather shady one and his intentions are still unknown, we can only find out for sure once the episode airs.

Stefan is held captive by a surprising acquaintance and is forced to confront a dark secret from his past. Meanwhile, Caroline and Matt try to keep Stefan’s violent history from destroying him. Cade focuses his attention on Bonnie and digs deep into her mind.”
Kai’s return has also sparked yet another question among fans pertaining to the return of Katherine’s character. On being asked, showrunner Julie Plec chose to remain diplomatic on the issue but it is highly unlikely that the age-old vampire character will return considering the fact that Elena’s appearance in the finale had already been confirmed and Dobrev has already talked about coming back for just one single episode.
Stefan however, after killing Enzo a couple of episodes back will be in further darkness once a very influential figure comes back from the past to haunt his present while Cade tries to concentrate more on Bonnie trying to get into her head while she is weak from the loss of Enzo.
The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 13 is scheduled to air on February 17, 2017 at 8:00 pm on The CW. This season which has already been pegged as the last has garnered quite a huge amount of acclaim from the fans with a horde of TVD enthusiasts expressing their desires and wishes for a possible The Vampire Diaries Season 9 to showrunner Julie Plec. Although Plec has been considerably silent pertaining to yet another season, we never know whether these fan-based wishlists would actually materialize or not.
