The McLaren P1 is a limited production forplug-in hybrid Sports car by British car manufacturer McLaren Automotive. It is preparing a cut-price all-electric hypercar to sit below the P1 in its limited-run Ultimate Series range and could go on sale before the end of 2020. McLaren insider confirmed the brand was working on a pure EV to sit in the range-topping Ultimate Series. McLaren announced its Track22 plan at March’s Geneva Motor Show in 2015. This new concept car will be quicker than the 675LT and reportedly take the speed up all the way to 322kmph. No doubt the team is working hard to make it a dream car for all the sports car lover. The price of this 2-door coup Sports car may reach the Rs 10 crore mark.
“No one buys a McLaren because they need one. We know that, so we need to make an EV that’s as exciting as a 675LT. An electric McLaren would need to manage 30 minutes on track with a 30-minute break before heading back out again. We won’t see the next P1 before 2023, but there could be another Ultimate Series car before that.”
McLaren declares that this car will be the most powerful of McLaren till date. It will be a limited edition track focused car. This moment the discussions of the car manufacturer team lies on its weight. The electric power usually makes a car too heavy, but McLaren ensures its lightweight construction. Thus the mechanism is under the magnifying glass.
McLaren’s Track22 program will include Sub-P1 Supercar and will provide at least 50 percent of its cars with electrification Tech by 2022. This British car manufacturer has the plan to launch fifteen new vehicles, a potential EV hypercar and an LT sub-brand. Many carmakers including the Mercedes-Benz has announced that they will launch four new electric models by the end of 2020.
