The 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S is an updated version of the iconic Aventador and does not need any special call to attention. The Italian icon has followed the likes of Porsche and Ferrari by introducing four-wheel-steering; this will ensure a solidly agile drive once the driver takes the car up to 200km/h. The limited-edition Aventador SV lends its own active suspension system to the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S. The new car was launched on 19 December 2016.We check out what the new Lamborghini has to offer.
2017 Lamborghini Aventador S Specs and Features
The new Aventador S is essentially an updated version of the 2011 Aventador, which was once called as the best Lamborghini car available. A 6.5 litre V12 engine now produces 740 PS or 730 bhp at 8,400 rpm, 40 horses extra when compared to the standard Aventador and 690 Nm at 5,500 rpm. A new “Ego” drive mode allows drivers to tailor powertrain, suspension and stability control systems to their own preferences, ensuring more terrains to ride on. With such engine specs, expect the Aventador S to go from zero to 62 miles in a blurry 2.9 seconds. It features a four-wheel steering system first seen on the Centenario. The upgraded engine is nearly as powerful as Ferrari’s F12 Berlinetta coupe.
2017 Lamborghini Aventador S Features
The new 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S is a single-body monocoque in carbon fibre. An updated fascia that Lamborghini claims is more aerodynamic is featured while the vertical ducts on the outside of the lower intake optimise airflow around the front tires and huge Pirelli P Zero front wheels while channelling more air toward the rear radiators. The rear also boasts of a new diffuser with a hexagonal exhaust outlet system. A three-position active rear wing is also featured. Front downforce is up 130 percent while low-downforce mode improves 400 percent, Lamborghini said. Besides these, the supercar boasts of other standard features like electrically operated, heated and foldable external mirrors. A ‘Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva’ (LDVA) control unit set to manage everything on the car is present. A new TFT digital dash, standard Apple CarPlay and the option of adding a telemetry system is present.
2017 Lamborghini Aventador S Price and Release
We expect the new Aventador to start at $421,350 and may go up to $500,000 as Lamborghini will offer new customisable options. Deliveries are set to begin in spring 2017. The 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S is expected to come in a variety of colours, although the only displayed picture showed the iconic yellow option. Considering that the original Aventador was named the best Lamborghini by Car and Driver Magazine, we expect the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S to be worth the price and the wait.
