The 100 season 4 episode 1 made a strong return, and it’s exciting to think what awaits for the rest of the season. The next one – “Heavy Lies the Crown” – is written by Justine Juel Gillmer and promises to pack a punch. Going by the title, the episode will explore Clarke and Bellamy’s moral dilemma and the many challenges of doing the right thing to their people.
The 100 Season 4 Episode 2 Synopsis
The fourth season of the show only premiered last week, and we can already tell it’ll be one promising year for The 100. The show has alway explored the moral complexities of not just being a leader but of surviving in the most adverse of environments. One of the main draws of The 100 is that you constantly keep asking yourself what would you do if you were in their place. With this season too, fans should be prepared to feel the brunt of putting their feet in Clarke and Bellamy’s shoe. The official description of the episode reads: “The burden of leading weighs heavily upon Clarke and Bellamy when different challenges force them to determine who will live and die.”
It’s great to see Bellarke returning after last season’s rift. Addressing the new found unity between Clarke and Bellamy, actress Eliza Taylor told Den of Geek how glad she is.
“[Clarke and Bellamy] on the same team again, which is really cool,” said the actress. “They’re a real team, and I really like where their storyline is going. There’s a lot of mutual respect, and they’re kind of sharing the leadership role.”
Could Raven be the New Leader?
In Hypable, they speak of a trio of leadership that may emerge this. Besides Clarke wanting to save everyone and Bellamy making decisions from the heart more too often, Raven would rise as the voice of reason. Raven has it in her to take tough decisions, albeit completely biased towards the people she loves. If you recall in season 2 Raven wanted to sacrifice Murphy in a bid to save Finn for something that Finn was responsible. It seems things will turn ugly before they turn any good and by the time the season ends the characters will once again be scarred by the decisions they take.
The 100 airs on February 8, 2017, at 9 p.m. on The CW.
