Manchester Arena terror attack:At least 19 people were killed and over 50 injured in an explosion at a pop concert by US singer Ariana Grande in Manchester in United Kingdom in early hours of Tuesday. The attack is being treated as a terrorist incident, according reports. Prime Minister Narenedra Modi and his British counterpart Theresa May have condemned the attack. Greater Manchester Police said in a statement that so far 19 people have been confirmed dead with around 50 others injured. The blast also came two and half weeks ahead of an election in which PM May is predicted by opinion polls to win a large majority.

8:10 am:British police carried out a controlled explosion near the Manchester Arena venue. There will be a controlled explosion in Cathedral Gardens shortly if you hearing anything don’t be concerned, police said on Twitter, referring to a small park opposite the concert venue. But a second tweet said that officers carrying out a precautionary controlled explosion in Cathedral Garden confirm that it was abandoned clothing, not a suspicious item.
