The Tata Kite 5 compact sedan has been revealed through a set of spy images. The Kite 5, the compact sedan concept car made its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo, and this sedan will launch during the festive season. Probably the images have come from within Tata’s manufacturing facility that was part of the trial production of the model. The new sub-compact sedan can be seen as an effective replacement to the Indigo eCS appreciated for its neatly proportioned styling. The published batch of spy pictures shows the rear of the car. The images are clearly stating the fact that the interior of the car will be great.

The Kite 5 is 3,995mm in length, 1,647mm in width and 1,535mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,450mm. The compact sedan will share interior design, features and powertrain with the Tiago hatchback but a larger screen compared to that of the Tiago. The car has 1.2-litre petrol engine capacity with a three-cylinder Revotron that can churn out 83.8bhp at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. Where the all-new 1.05-litre, three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine will develop 69bhp of power and 140Nm of torque and both the engines will be available with multi-drive modes. The safety features include dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control (CSC).

Tiago arrived in the country earlier this year but faced issues with business due to its high pricing. Tata’s compact sedan will be in competition with Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Figo and all these cars have a huge popularity in India. The car Tata Kite 5 is expected to be released later this year.
