Actor-director-producer Ajay Devgan reportedly joined hands with filmmaker Abhinav Shukla for the production of a TV series on Indian Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s life. The series on the yoga guru will screen by year-end and will feature his journey from being a common man to a global figure.

A source within the team reveals that the television series will feature the journey of Baba Ramdev and his partner Balakrishna from a common man to a global figure. The series will be titled Swami Baba Ramdev: The Untold Story.

The scriptwriters are busy researching for content and the shooting is most likely to begin at the end of this year.

The casting for the TV series is underway. Dil Dhadakne Do actor Vikrant Massey was to play the role of Baba Ramdev but has reportedly opted out for personal reasons. He confirmed it saying that he had started preparing but had opted out for personal reasons and wishes the team luck for the endeavor.

Baba Ramdev was born on 25 December 1965 in a small village in Haryana. He studied scripture, yoga, and Sanskrit in various Gurukuls.

Ramdev became a prominent figure when the channel ‘Aastha’ began featuring his yoga sessions in their morning slot. Since then, many celebrities have attended his sessions including Amitabh Bachchan and Shilpa Shetty. He was invited to the United Nations to deliver a lecture on poverty alleviation. Ramdev has founded many organizations like Patanjali and Bharat Swabhiman Trust. He has received many awards and has also written many books.

Ramdev has also been politically active, protesting against corruption, labor laws, animal testing, and homosexuality. He has been involved in various controversies and has also been detained at Heathrow Airport, London. He has been a significant part of Anna Hazare’s strikes. He has been on hunger strikes to inspire the public to fight against corruption.
