Supergirl Season 3

Supergirl Season 3: These days,The CW, hub for superheroseries is wasting no time in renewing shows. Besides confirming the renewal of Arrow Season 6,Supernatural Season 13, the channelhas also announced the renewal for the Supergirl season 3 at the Winter TCA.

Supergirl has been renewed for a third season.

The show premiered on October 26, 2015,on CBS with twenty episodes and for the second season, Supergirl was picked up by The CW with twenty-twoepisodes. Although the channel is yet to announce exactly how many episodes Supergirl season 3 will have, we can guess there’ll be around twenty episodes for the upcoming season too.

When Supergirl kicked off, it garnered over three million viewers, favourable reviews from criticsand mixed-response from general viewers. With season 2, the show promptly forged its own path with new takes on old stories. The stats published by The CW regarding the current season proves the huge fanbase the show has managed to build in a short time. Here a look at what convinced The CW to renew the show:

“The network premiere of “Supergirl” was super-powered for The CW, giving the network its most-watched (3.024 million) show in its Monday 8:00-9:00pm time period in almost eight years, its best adults 18-49 (1.1/4) rating in nearly six years, and its highest adults 18-34 (0.9/4) rating in five years.” – said Nielsen Media Research.

Season 2 is presently under mid-season hiatus and will be returning on Monday, January 23, 2016. So predicting season 3 will be a stretch. So far, we think the main cast (Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen/Guardian, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, Chris Wood as Mon-El/Mike Matthews, David Harewood as J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter and Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman) will be returning for Supergirl season 3. Still going strong, we hope the next season too will surpass what the show is doing in season 2. Look out for the latest news on Supergirl season 2.

Supergirl season 2 resumes with episode 9. Here’s a promo for the episode:
