Sony Launches Xperia X And XA In India

Sony has just launched two new phones in its Xperia series, called Sony Xperia X and XA. The electronics giant has long been trying to establish a foot in the smartphone market and with the release of these two, the company is aiming to do just that. The only problem with the plan is that both the devices are mid-ranged but come at an extremely high price.

The Xperia X is priced at Rs. 48,990 while the Xperia XA costs Rs. 20,990. The devices are going to be available from the third week of June. Currently, the smartphones are available for pre-booking on Amazon.com. Both devices are going to run on  Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s UI on top.

Xperia X

The Sony Xperia X Dual features a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Triluminos Display for mobile powered X-Reality for mobile engine and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. The dual-SIM handset measures 142.7×69.4×7.9mm and weighs 153 gm. In the camera department, the device features a 23-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture and a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, predictive hybrid autofocus, and pulse LED flash and a 13-megapixel front snapper with a f/2.0 aperture. It has  3GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card. A 2620mAh battery completes the package.

Xperia XA

The Sony Xperia XA sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display powered by Mobile Bravia Engine 2. The runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a MediaTek MT6755. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded up to 200GB via a MicroSD card. The device weighs 138 gm and measures 143.6×66.8×7.9mm. As for the camera, Xperia XA sports a 13-megapixel camera with Exmor RS for mobile sensor, hybrid autofocus, and LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera. A 2300mAh battery completes the package.

With these phones, Sony is offering Rs. 2,700 worth of free content in the form of a three-month subscription to Son Liv, Kindle books worth Rs. 1,000 and a three-month subscription to Hungama Play. The Xperia X comes with Gameloft games alongside free credits worth Rs. 780.
