Sanjay Leela Bhansali is certainly an invincible genius who does all his work with immense pleasure and perfectly as his previous works Ram-Leela, Devdas, Bajirao Mastani were highly commendable. The ongoing project Padmavati featuring Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, among others is considerably one of the most anticipated films of 2017 and with his latest venture still under the reels, Sanjay has already started working on his future project eventually locking in King Khan for his upcoming film. Well, we hear that Bhansali has roped in Shahrukh Khan as the Poet of his film named as Sahir Ludhianvi in his upcoming project titled as Gustakhiyan.
Considered as most ambitious biographical drama, the upcoming project Gustakhiyan‘s plot would be revolving around the life-story of Urdu poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi who had relationships with several women including poetess-novelist Amrita Pritam as well as singer-actress Sudha Malhotra. It will also focus his works in Bollywood as he earned his first Filmfare Award in 1963 for Taj Mahal and then 13 years later for Kabhie Kabhie as Best Lyricist Award.
Shahrukh will be joining hands with Bhansali for the second time as their firstproject was Devdas, the classical love-drama which bagged almost all the Filmfare Awards back in 2002. The movie was termed as cult wherein lead actors Shahrukh, Madhuri, Aishwarya roped in all the awards. Reuniting after 16 years of time span, Sanjay definitely has something royal and magnificent in his mind for Shahrukh, who gave a tremendous performance as the protagonist in Devdas.
As of now, other leads have not been finalised yet, but project’s title, lead actor, and othercrew members have been locked in. Gustakhiyan to be releasedworldwide in 2018, the production unit Bhansali production is meanwhile concentrating on Padmavati, which is slated to hit thescreen on 2017.
