Season 7 of Game of Thrones is just around the corner, releasing this Sunday, and while the world impatiently holds its breath in wait of the new season, the cast and crew arrived on the ’blue carpet’ for the world premiere in Los Angeles. Among those who were seen at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Wednesday were Kit Harrington, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Rose Leslie.

Game of Thrones has broken many records and has become one of the most-watched and most-pirated shows in the world and the actors in the show are among the highest-paid actors in the industry. Many of them were unknown to the audience before they landed in Westeros, a world created in the mind of George R. R. Martin. Among these unknowns was Emilia Clarke, who has become one of the most beloved stars on the show.

The 7th season is due to release on Sunday, with its first episode title Dragonstone. The title refers to a place in Westeros, a castle in the Blackwater Bay. Daenerys Targaryen’s ancestor, Aegon the Conqueror, had landed here from Valyria and later it became the stronghold of Robert Baratheon’s brother, Stannis Baratheon.

In pictures released by HBO, Daenerys is seen landing on the island of Dragonstone, somewhat repeating history as she plans on conquering the Seven Kingdoms and sitting on the Iron Throne.

While Jon Snow has been declared the ‘King in the North’ by his bannermen, Cersei Lannister had assumed power in King’s Landing after her youngest son, Tommen, had committed suicide. Arya Stark is on her way to Westeros from Bravos, where she has trained to be an assassin.

Meanwhile, Baelish and Varys are plotting on the sidelines again, no doubt casting words into the ears of future kings and queens, making their foothold stronger in a future court.

Tyrion Lannister had been declared the Hand of the Queen to Daenerys Targaryen and will accompany her to the Seven Kingdoms.
