It has rarely happened that postponing a movie has proved to be a wise decision for any film. This time Sarkar 3 has taken the risk again to do that and postponing the film till 12th May to face a clash with two other much-awaited release Jagga Jasoos and Meri Pyaari Bindu. The third installment of Sarkar franchise is the only way for the director Ram Gopal Varma to come back to the mainstream Bollywood movies, after his numerous flops and biggest mistake of his life to recreate the history of ‘Sholey’, through ‘Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag.’
Sarkar 3 was all set to release on April 7, but now according to the spokesperson of the film “We, at Eros along with Mr.Bachchan, RGV and Wave took a mutual decision to postpone the release of Sarkar 3 to 12th May 2017 due to delay in post production work.”
It is not cleared in the statement the sole reason of the delay. But speculation is Aishwarya’s father’s demise is keeping the lead of the movie Amitabh Bachchan busy. There is another possibility, as Mr. Bachchan was suffering from a neck pain suddenly, it may not be possible for him to take part in promotions currently and the makers of the movie had to take the tough decision at the last moment.
This step will be not so profitable for Sarkar 3 as on the same date Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer Jagga Jasoos and Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Meri Pyaari Bindu will be released. Three big movies clashing on the same day is never good for any movies as it just divides the business of all the films. Ranbir and Katrina will be seen after a long time and most probably for the last time too as the broken up couple may not work together ever after. So they may win the race. But IPL is on its way, and it is really a matter of question now whether any of them can do the deserved business at the box office!
