According to rumours on the web, Samsung plans to make the upcoming 2017 device to be their first which will offer a 4K resolution display. The rumoured Samsung Galaxy S8 is being said to feature a combination of 12MP and 13MP rear cameras. While the 12MP ISOCELL S5K2L2 sensor is expected to be the same as in the current model, the 13MP sensor might be made by Sony. Like other handsets, the dual-rear camera will give users better control over the depth of field in images. Moreover, reports claim that the S8 will sport an 8-megapixel camera with the recently introduced Iris-scanner making it the first phone to have it in the S series. This year Samsung introduced the Edge variant even to the S series with the Galaxy S7 Edge. The current Samsung Galaxy S7 was unveiled February 2016 and introduced the following month.Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge feature 12MP dual pixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture for brighter images in low light situations. Besides optical image stabilisation, the camera also comes with features such as time-lapse, slow motion, HDR, panorama and more. Both also sport a 5MP front-facing camera. The latest Galaxy Note 7 comes with the same 12MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera sensor like in the Galaxy S7. There have been no confirmed reports regarding the unveiling of the Galaxy S8 as of now by Samsung which is quite indicative of the fact that the phone launch is no time soon. However, the South Korean consumer electronics giants will most probably unveil the phone around February 2017.
