As the most anticipated smartphone of the year, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is just an hour away from being unveiled; loads of rumors are currently blowing in the air regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features and speculations.  As plenty of information are coming about the hardware of this soon to be released flagship, the news is Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be featured with spam blocking functionality in the form of Hiya, just like the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.

After their breakup with Whitepages, Hiya currently only protects the smartphone users from spam texts and robocalls. This ad blocking application does its job by leveraging a data set which comprises of 600 million active landline and mobile numbers within the U.S. and a total of 1.5 billion all over the world. Before Hiya split off with Whitepages, they also let the users search within the phone’s native dialer for nearby businesses.

The data company provides suggest that the application screens almost 665 million calls worldwide per month. Among those, 35 million are classified as per the request by the users. Spams and robocalls, either in the forms of calls or messages, are crucial problems from which the smartphone users are suffering for a long time. In June 2015, by getting so many complaints, the Federal Communication Commission in the U.S. finally gave the green signal to the smartphone companies and the mobile operators to block spam legally.

The Founder and CEO of Hiya, Alex Algard, commented, “Expanding our service to include Galaxy Note 7 users and further growing our footprint in the international arena gets us one step closer to providing the kind of phone experience that everyone with a smartphone deserves.”

Now, only the Samsung smartphones come with this ad blocking feature inbuilt. And if we talk about the mobile operators, T-Mobile has a partnership with Hiya. For the users of other smartphone companies, they have to download this spam blocking application from Google Play Store and iTunes.
