Three new speculated features have surfaced just ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7‘s launch on August 2, 2016. These specs, however, pertain to the added S- Pen feature of the smartphone. Earlier we had heard rumours about the S-Pen’s superpower to be able to write on the phone even under water, spurred by the possibility of an IP certification for the smartphone.

According to SamMobile, a portal well-known for its extensive focus on all things related to Samsung mobile devices, the S-Pen for the new Note 7 is going to be a considerable improvement upon the same for the Note 5. The portal says that users can anticipate three cool new features for what may be a super-stylus.

The first reported function is called Translate, and it does what you would think it does, (that is, translate words in a foreign language), but with a trademark coolness. Users will require to hover the S-Pen over the word that they wish to translate, or tap on the speaker icon to hear the word pronounced for them. This function sounds way more convenient than opening up a new app every time a foreign word comes up.

The second function that we should expect is Magnify, and its use sounds pretty obvious. All the users will need to do is hover the S-Pen over a portion of the text they wish to enlarge for improved ease of viewing. This action would be more convenient than pinching out the text to expand it using one’s hands.

The final function that the Galaxy Note 7 S-Pen Stylus is likely to come with is one called Glance, which will allow users the convenience of switching between apps by hovering it over a floating app thumbnail.

The Galaxy Note 7 is one of the most awaited smartphones of this year. The monster device is rumoured to be capable of non-stop video playback for 20 hours straight on a single charge on maximum brightness; t is also expected to sport a 5.8-inch QuadHD display with 1440×2560 pixel resolution. The device may come with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage (expandable via microSD). It is expected to run on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. It is also supposed to be the first device on the market to feature the Gorilla Glass 5.

However, all of these specs are rumoured and thus should be considered with some doubts. The smartphone will be launched at an event on August 2, which one can watch here. Till we can do that, let us wait to find out what is actually in store for us.
