The exciting new smartphone from Samsung is rumoured to have its launch set to be announced in August of the current year. At the same time it had been revealed that the new flagship device following the Note 5 will be called the Galaxy Note 7.
When questioned why the intermediate numeric has been slipped from the name, representatives for the South Korean company said that the newGalaxy Note 7 will complement their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones, and unify their product portfolio. Also the Galaxy Note 7 “will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone,” the company announced via a post on their website.
The Galaxy Note 7 is set to be officially announced at an event in New York on August 2. Simultaneous events have also been confirmed by the company that are to be held in London and Rio de Janeiro.
There have been much speculation about the rumoured features of the device that is yet to see the light of the day. The reported Iris Scanner that the phone is supposed to be sporting at front has caused a stir; it is expected to be effective for biometric locking purposes that will be an even better option to the fingerprint scanner that has gained popularity in the smartphone fraternity.
Earlier this week, a flurry of pictures were leaked by Steve Hemmerstoffer, claiming them to be belonging to a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 prototype caught on camera.The pictures seem to confirm the inclusion of a dual-edge display instead of the usualdisplay variant.
Other features of the new Galaxy Note 7 are speculated to include a 5.7 inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It is rumoured to be running on the Android v 7 Nougat, equipped with 6 GB of RAM andoffer three inbuilt storage options of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB with the choice to expand as well. It will also sport a dual camera with a 12 megapixel primary camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. But the information about the specifications is rendered hazy for being based solely on speculations and guesses.
Samsung also claimed that the new S Pen, which will be part of the Galaxy Note 7, will come with “added functionalities.”
