Samsung has definitely turned over a new leaf following their Galaxy Note 7 debacle last year and it seems that the South Korean tech firm is all set to launch their all-new devices in the market to get an early start to the forthcoming commercial year. Although most of the news are regarding Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S8, there is still considerable time for the premium smartphone to launch and the tech company seems to want to roll out a number of midrange devices prior to the S8. The latest device by Samsung which was spotted on the benchmarking site Geekbench is the 2017 version of the Samsung Galaxy J7, which is a series of mid-range smartphones by the South Korean company.
Reportedly, somebody who had a prototype of the Galaxy J7 (2017) has run the handset on Geekbench 4, which has offered a peek into the upcoming smartphone’s specs and features. Spotted under the model nameSM-J727P, the rumoured J7 reportedly recorded a benchmark score of 889 and 4200 for single-core and multi-core performances, respectively.
The listing for the Samsung device shares further information on the J7 which is slated to be powered byan octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which is clocked at 2.21 GHz along with a 2GB RAM specification running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. The previous iteration of the J7 had the same configuration and whether Samsung would decide to ramp up the internal memory specifications of the J7 further before its release is what is left to be seen. However, the J7(2017) will reportedly pack in 32Gb of on-board memory, a significant update from the 16GB specification in its predecessor device. The device will also support expandable storage up to 128GB via Micro-SD card.
Although this is almost everything we have obtained from the benchmark listing, there have been other reports which have indicated a 5.5-inch AMOLED display for the Galaxy J7 (2017) , a 13MP Rear camera as well as a 5MP front camera. It is also expected to house a 4,000 mAh battery. There is no word on the price and availability of the device as of yet, but it is quite possible that the Galaxy J7 (2017) might see the light of day at the MWC 2017 event in the end of February.
