SAARC Summit Postponed after India’s Boycott

The upcomingSAARC summit was scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan in the month of November.But unfortunately, it has been postponed after India pulled out the event, as reported by the Nepalese media today. As mentioned by the Nepalese media, the Kathmandu post has reported that after India announced the inability to participate in“in the prevailing circumstances”, the 19th SAARC Summit is being postponed. Nepal is the Chair of the eight-member grouping. Therefore, the reportsemanating from Nepal are absolutely significant. And India hasmade communication with Nepal about its decision too.

According to the source, the summit gets postponed or even cancelled automatically, even if one member country skips and does not attend the meeting. As there is agrowing tension between India and Pakistan and the tension is maturing continuously between them, especiallyafter the Uri attack, where militants stormed and attacked an Indian army base nearthe mountains of Kashmir in the headquarters of Uri. Around 5:30 a. m. in the morning the attack was stormed.The date is yet a nightmare for all Indians as 18 soldiers were killed. September 18 when 18 soldierswere massively killed.

However, SAARC has beendiscovered in the year 1985. South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation orSAARC to be in brief, recently has manymembers. Along with India, the other membersare Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and last but not the least Afghanistan. Besides India, three other members, however, have pulled out of the summit. They are indirectly blaming Pakistan for creating and making an environment which is not at all right for a successfulholding.
