Bollywood’s most favored movies of this year, Sultan and Rustom attracted billion of audiences worldwide thus earning hundreds of crores in mere 3 to 4 days. The noted personalities of Hindi film industry seems simply unstoppable as the team gave us a blockbuster we could cherish for days. Akshay Kumar who has been tasting success with every released film and Salman Khan who variably gives jitters to his contemporaries with every release. Perhaps, quite the most dominating figures of B-Town, Akshay and  Salman might play a pivotal role in making Bollywood proud at every single step. With almost big budget movies crashing at BO, Rustom and Sultan did not let us down in the global arena. So, let’s take a glimpse of Rustom vs. Sultan total worldwide box office collection.

Rustom vs. Sultan Worldwide Box Office Collection Till Date

Surprisingly, both the movies had a jist of patriotism in the storyline. Rustom revolved around the storyline of Indian Naval Officer engaged in the murder of his wife’s extra-marital wherein Sultan spoke about a small town man who wrestled for his country as well as lady love. Multiplexes and single theaters were jam packed with not a single ticket available at the last moment. Beforehand booking was trended in, as Sultan broke all previous records at BO. Rustom too was acknowledged by many or say masses where tickets were sold out even before its scheduled showtimes. Considering both the movie earning in an extraordinary way, worldwide box office collection of Rustom and Sultan till date has settled down to Rs. 128 crores and Rs. 585 crores, respectively.

Rustom vs. Sultan Total Box Office Collection in India

Sultan starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films, hit the silver screen on  July 6, 2016, with a bang and on its very first day it broke opening day box office records thus earning Rs. 25 crores in India only. Rustom, on the other hand, collected Rs. 35 crores in domestic figures holding on a superb star cast of Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta under the banner of Friday Filmworks (Neeraj Pandey) hit the silver screen on August 12, 2016. Both the movies have broken its records within the first weekend, as Rustom earned more than Baby, Akshay’s last release. So, if we take a deep analysis of both the movies’ domestic box office collection till date, Rustom will settle down at Rs. 95 crores whereas Sultan have most probably generated revenue of Rs. 425 crores.

Box Office Collection of Rustom vs Sultan in Overseas Till Date

Salman and Akshay, both reigning kings of Bollywood, have a huge fan following in abroad with almost 90% of films released in multiplexes in the main cities. The Middle East being numero uno at showcases of Superstars’ films, it is followed by US, UK, European countries among others. Indians residing abroad watch these movies but sometimes it comes as a surprise when rest of the population consists of foreign viewers for Hindi language films. Hitting the 75mm screen almost on the same date of releases as of India, Sultan witnessed more viewership in overseas than Rustom thus outnumbering the revenue generated for both the films in the context of box office collection for Rustom and Sultan till date in overseas. Rustom overseas box office collection as of now has settled down to Rs.  33 crores whereas Sultan box office collection in overseas till date has generated revenue of Rs. 160 crores.

Produced under a typical budget of Rs. 50 crores for Rustom and Rs. 70 crores for Sultan, both the Hindi language films have earned more than its expectations making almost  7 to 10 times money than usual. Possessing an exquisite plot, and stupendous performance delivered by its cast, Sultan ruled BO until Rustom hit the theaters after a month. Still, Sultan performed better in many ways than Rustom till date at the box office collection worldwide.
