Rio Olympics 2016: Sindhu set to create history on Day 14 of the Rio Olympics

Day 14 of the Rio Olympics 2016 will feature a total of five events featuring Indian participants with the spotlight, without a doubt being on Indian shuttler P.V Sindhu who will go for gold in the finals of the woman’s singles Badminton event.

Here is a list of events featuring participants from the Indian contingent:

Event : Golf (Woman’s Individual Round 3)

18-year-old Aditi Ashok was just four shots behind the leader, Inbee Park of Korea, after firing a second successive three-under 68, which included five birdies against a couple of bogeys, to move to six-under 136 at the end of the second day in the individual golf event for women at the games village.

Timing: 04:00 PM onwards

Event : Athletics

Mens 50Km Walk:

Saneep Kumar will take part in Men’s 50 Km walk finals of the Rio Olympics 2016

Timing: 04:30 PM onwards

Woman’s 20Km Walk:

Sapana Sapana will take part in the woman’s 20 Km walk in the finals of the event at Rio.

Timing: 11:00 PM onwards

Woman’s 4x400m Relay:

Ashwini Akkunji, Poovamma Raju Machettira, Jisna Mathew, Debashree Mazumdar, Nirmala Sheoran, Anilda Thomas will be the participating team for the Women’s 4x400m Relay in the heat 2 of the event on Saturday morning at the Games village of their maiden Olympics event.

Timing: 05:21 AM onwards( 20th August)

Event : Badminton ( Woman’s singles Final):

P.V Sindhu has entered the finals of the Singles tournament and has confirmed atleast a silver medal for the country’s contingent. However the 21 year old shuttler will have no intention to stop her quest for a gold in her maiden Olympics as she take on Carolina Marin in the final.

Event :Wrestling (Men’s Freestyle 57 Kg)

Sandeep Tomar will be in action in Men’s Freestyle 57 kg Round of 16 and will face Viktor Lebedev of Russia.
Timing :07:02 PM

With one bronze medal already in the bag for India, P.V Sindhu’s final match will be of utmost significance as it has already confirmed atleast a silver medal in Rio. Aditi Ashok is also looking good in her event and the Indian audience might also just witness their first Olympic medal in Golf.
We ll have to wait and watch.
