
With a disappointing haul of results at the end of day 3, the optimistic Indian audience will be looking forward to day 4 of the Rio Olympics 2016 with India still searching for a first piece of silverware at the games village in Rio.
What events are there on Tuesday(Day 4)?
Men’s Single Sculls Quarterfinal 4:
25 year-old Dattu Bhokanal hailing from Talegaon will be India’s only hope in the Men’s sculls quarter finals. He finished third in the single sculls heats on the opening day to qualify for the quarterfinals. His timing of 7:21.67 minutes to complete the 2000 m course ranked him 15th among all the competitors. Bhokanal, who has been a part of the Indian Army since 2012, Dattu qualified for the Games with a silver medal finish in the Asia-Oceania qualifier, was far behind his personal best mark of 7:07.63s but will be hopeful of improving on his Saturday’s qualifying performance during the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Shooting -Women’s 25 m pistol (Qualification & Finals):
The only pistol shooter in the Indian contingent, Heena Sidhu failed to qualify for the finals of the 10m air pistol event and will be looking to make amends in the 25m category on Tuesday. Not being able to compete in her strength category has raised doubts about the 26 year –old with the 25m event not quite being in her area of expertise.

Archery (Men) Individual Eliminations (Round of 64):
After securing an impressive fifth place in the ranking round, the only male archer from India has been pitted against veteran Jitbahadur Muktan of Nepal(who ranked 60th) in the elimination round en-route to the round of 32.

Field Hockey Men – India vs Argentina:
The Indian men’s hockey team are placed fourth in Group B and will take on 3rd placed Argentina in their third fixture. Having a win and a loss apiece India are stuck in the middle of the table and a win against Argentina will take them closer to Germany who are sitting at the the top of the group with 6 points from two games. The last minute goal suffered conceded against Germany might lowered the confidence of PR Sreejesh and his team but an overall satisfying performance against the defending champions will surely fuel them on Tuesday.

Boxing Middleweight 75 kg:
Seeded seventh in the middleweight draw, the only Indian boxer to get a billing in the Games, Vikas Krishnan will be up against 18 year-old Charles Conwell from the United States in his opening bout at the games village. Haryana-born Vikas was eliminated from the2012 Olympic GamesinLondonin the preliminary round, despite initially being declared the winner 13:11 under questionable circumstances.
