Reliance Defence Gets 15 New Licences With Permission

Reliance Defence have already 25 licences regarding other sectors and with having more new licences under its authority is ready to become one of the highest permit receiver in the country. A subsidiary to Reliance Infrastructure Limited, the company was granted permission to develop wide range of high technology based equipments such as heavy weapons, armoured vehicles, ammunitions, electric warfare systems, UAV, as well as direct energy weapon systems.

The entire budget amounted is approximately 50,000 crores INR for the 10 more licences granted which includes 15 previous licences permitted earlier. Reliance always have been a front runner in every sector and Defence being a new area might give tough competitions to TATA, L&T, Baba Kalyani Group, Mahindras, etc.

Reliance is aiming at developing an Infantry Combat Vehicle which will not only address the domestic requirement but can also addresses the Global requirements estimated at Rs 350,000.

The new license which has been permitted will include 10 for land systems, 3 for naval systems and rest 2 for covering niche technology. According to Reliance Group Chairman, Anil Ambani, “An attempt is being made to deny opportunity to new players on grounds of lack of experience, which he described as a “booby-trap” laid by vested interest to kill competition.”

Apart from this the conglomerate is ready to invest 50,000 crores INR more for combat vehicles, air defence missile systems, and many more. Though it would take not less than 10 to 15 years more. It is also trying to invest in other countries and international market such as Middle East, Africa and South America. It will help in increasing potential in larger basis.
