After a long gap finally the fans of Rani Mukharji is getting some news to rejoice! Rani Mukerji is all set for her comeback on the silver screen after 3 years with her upcoming project Hichki. This 39 year sold actress has started shooting for the film today at Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai. Along with Rani, other prominent actors will also start shooting from today itself. As the actress kick starts the shooting of the movie today, YRF has tweeted about the same. In the video, Rani is writing “Shoot starts today” with a chalk on a blackboard.
Rani said in an interview “I was looking for a script that would challenge and excite me, and Hichki came my way. Each of us has a weakness that pulls us back. It could be a disability or any condition but if we just look at it as simply a hiccup, we can emerge as a winner. It won’t come in the way of achieving our dreams. Hichki is built on this positive premise and I decided to take it up.”
The film was produced under the banner of Dharma Productions and was the official remake of 1998’s Hollywood flick Stepmom. Hichki is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, who directed the Kajol, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Rampal starrer We Are Family previously. On the other hand, Maneesh Sharma who is the producer of the film is working with Yash Raj Films after Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Meri Pyaari Bindu.
Rani is an excellent actor who can pull up any kind of role and is comfortable in both comedy and serious characters. Though she started her career as a commercial Bollywood actress, her last few movies were too strong and mostly woman-centric. Her last release Mardaani is about a female officer who will break the child trafficking hub.
The story of Hichki revolves around the character of Rani, who will turn her biggest weakness into her biggest strength. Rani confirms the movie to be released this year, and all her fans cannot wait any longer.
