Despite facing a tough competition from Kaabil, the earnings of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees has been soaring higher with every passing day. The Rahul Dholakia directed movie is not only performing phenomenally at the domestic box office but also at the International arena. Raees had settled down to a miraculous amount of nearly Rs. 25.42 Crores on its opening day and till now the action crime thriller movie has garnered a revenue of Rs. 93.24 Crores at the domestic box office. Hence, it’s a clear indication that Raees is soon going to become the first Bollywood film of 2017 which will enter into the 100 Crore club.
Raees was predicted to acquire magnificent figures to its box office earnings much before its release due to the power packed star cast. However, the action crime thriller movie might not have been well received by quite a few audiences due to its plot line but its earnings seem to be rock-steady until now and even the ticket counters witnessed quite rush on its first weekend. Raees box office collection garnered a figure of Rs. 17.80 Crores yesterday in India and has been performing extremely well in terms of its business perspective in the GCC countries.
No matter how good or bad the plot line of any film is, its success rate highly depends upon its box office collection, the filmmakers invest a lump sum amount of cash into its production to make the movie look grand and the selection of the star cast becomes an important part. Therefore, with the addition of Shah Rukh Khan in Raees, the movie was bound to acquire impressive amounts at the box office.
Made with a production cost of Rs. 65 Crores, Raees has been released over nearly 2800 screens across the world and has acquired mixed responses from the audiences. However, the action crime thriller film is expected to surpass the 100 Crore mark soon.
