Anand Kumar Biopic: Vikas Bahl, famous for his directing ability in the super-hit movie Queen is now making a bio-pic on the renowned mathematician and the father of the “Super 30” program Anand Kumar.
Anand Kumar, who was a famous Indian mathematician, came into lime light for his “Super 30” project where he trains economically backward students for IIT-JEE, the entrance exam of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Kumar started his dream project in 2002 and by the year 2015, 333 students out of the 390 students trained by him, have cracked the IIT entrance exam. Discovery channel has also made a documentary on his life time work.
When we asked about the movie and why Anand Kumar, the producer of the movie Priti Sinha said the story of Bihar based mathematician has inspired them a lot and they were trying to make a movie on him for a long time, ““Its been a long journey…we met Anandji, a year ago and he recently agreed to give us the rights of his inspirational story. Sanjeev Dutta was roped in to write the film and simultaneously Vikas Bahl was signed as Director. We have now joined hands with Phantom to produce the film with us. The film is set to go on floors early next year.”
The makers of the cult comedy movie of the 90’s “Andaaz Apna Apna” – Vinay Sinha and his team are looking for a leading actor to play the role of Anand Kumar and have already talked with few.
The movie will be made in a joint venture by Reel Life Entertainment (I) Pvt Ltd and Phantom Films Pvt. Ltd. Vikram, one of the famous names of the Tamil movies and one of the directors of this movie said, “Reel Life Entertainment is excited about this project.”
The full team of the movie including Director Vikas Bahl, Producers Vinay Sinha &Priti Sinha, Co-Producer Namrata Oberoi, Associate Producer Amod Sinha, and writer Sanjeev Dutta all has flown to Patna to announce the movie officially in presence of Anand Kumar himself.
So, can we have our own “A Beautiful Mind”, only time will only that, but it is sure that the bio-pic will inspire a lot of young aspirants who are thinking to take teaching as their profession.
