In one of the glorifying situation ace shuttler, PV Sindhu beat Carolina Marin in the last group league match or virtually the quarter-final match in Badminton World Federation Superseries 2016 so as to enter semi- final. Defeating her former face off in the quit-win match, Sindhu defeat the Olympic Gold Medallist by 21-17 21-13 hence making the entire nation proud once again.

The really tense match between world’s No. 1 and No. 8 led the entire stadium shout and cheer for Sindhu as the same scenario arose during Olympic finals where Sindhu stood at second winning Silver to Carolina Marin, the Rio Olympics Champion. This time, it reversed as Sindhu held heads high as she took the all the scores in her court. Showing some stunning game in her defence, she took an impressive point to win the game.


Started at 19:30 IST, Sindhu first service gets her 1-0 against Carolina. Continuing sluggishly Marin leads the game with a 5-3 point at 19:32. Soon the match resumes as an interesting one as the competition comes to neck-to-neck with a point of 11-10. The beautiful shots by Caroline and reverse services by Sindhu took the match point to 12-all, 31-12, 16-12, 16-13, 18-13, 18-19 and so on.

Finally, Sindhu takes a lead by 20-15 thus winning the first half game at 21-17. The second game starts at 19:56 thus scoring up points like 3-1, 4-3, 5-3, 7-4, 9-5, 11-6, and so on. In the midst of intensified situation, Sindhu took a lead by 13-6 and 15-10 at 20:10. After scoring 12-18 at 20:12, PV Sindhu took the golden chance to score 21-13 subsequently beating Caroline Marin in the quarter-final match in Badminton World Federation Superseries 2016 held in Dubai.
