It was a few days ago when Top notch actors Ajay Devgn and Anupam Kher received Padma awards. In a recent event Priyanka Chopra, Rajnikanth and Sania Mirza became the honorary recipient of Padma Sri and Padma Vibhushan. The ceremony took place in Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. The Padma awards were conferred by the President of India, Sri Pranab Mukherjee.
‘Quantico’ star Priyanka who is recently busy with her latest upcoming Hollywood project ‘Baywatch’ came down from Montreal, U.S. to accept the Padma Sri honour. Rajnikanth, another recipient of Padma, awarded who was honoured Padma Vibhushan is busy with his latest venture Enthiran 2.
Apart from these Film fraternity celebrities, Tennis Ace Sania Mirza also stole the show. She was the honorary recipient of Padma Sri. Bollywood Playback Singer Udit Narayan received Padma Vibhushan. All of them wore traditional attire. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ star donned a beautiful cream coloured saree where as Sports star wore beautiful pink Salwar Kameez. Superstar Thalaiyivaa too wore a White Kurta Pajama with a Nehru jacket. The three looked fabulous, and the charisma could be seen while receiving the honourable Padma Awards.
Padma Awards is the second highest civilian designation given in India to those who excel in their work and make the nation proud. The award itself maintains such standards that it surpasses all the other awards given to any personality. Other than this Padma Bhushan is also awarded to timeless celebrities or to those who are no more.
