The game Pokemon Go for the first time came into thespotlight in July when it was released on the iOS platform. The Indians did not have the official license to play the game, but there have been no lack of popularity among the players of the game as they managed to get hold of the game in their smartphones from unofficial sources and joined the players across the world.
There have been more than 500 million downloads of the game globally. Such has been the popularity of the game across the world. And with the news coming in via Mashable that the game is going to be launched in India, fans of the game Pokemon Go in India will be ecstatic.
The company which should receive a lot of thanks in the upcoming for making the game available in India is Reliance Jio. The developer of the game Niantic joined hands with Reliance Jio in order to bring the game to India. The players of the game will find the ‘Pokestops’ or the ‘Gyms’ in the Reliance Digital Stores. This is nothing new that Niantic has joined hands with another company while promoting the game. They have previously joined hands with McDonald’s in Japan to launch the game there. Also previously it was reported that they came in collaboration with Starbucks to build the ‘Pokestops’in USA.
The Chief Executive Officer and founder of the developer of the game Pokemon Go said that they were delighted to partner Reliance Jio while launching the game in India. He has been quoted saying, “It’s exciting to see Pokmon fans in India step out and explore their neighbourhoods in search of Pokmon.” Matthew Oommen, President of Reliance Jio, also sounded excited to shake hands with Niantic in a bid to launch Pokemon Go in India. Post this patch up, he said, “Our partnership with Niantic not only brings access to the Pokmon GO app but also opens the door to more opportunities for our customers to enjoy content on Jio’s one-of-a-kind mobile broadband network.”
So finally the Indians would be able to play the game after downloading it legally. The game was previously shut down in India due to the illegitimate downloads that had been taking place in the country. But the new initiative from Reliance Jio and Niantic will enable the users of smartphones in India to download Pokemon Go in a proper way and go ahead with gameplay.
