Aamir Khan‘s Dangal has set the box office on fire and the moviegoers just cannot stop themselves from praising the biographical sports drama again and again. But somewhere around all the positive responses former wrestling coach PR Sondhi is extremely disappointed with the negative portrayal of his character in the film, as per a recent report by Mid Day.
The character of PR Sondhi which was depicted by Girish Kulkarni has been highlighted as the antagonist of Dangal right from the time he was introduced in the movie. And the climax of Dangal puts the character into a negative picture even more as he gets Aamir locked inside a room so he misses out on watching his daughter’s match.
Nevertheless, PR Sondhi expressed about being left with a dispirited heart as he mentioned that the filmmakers might have changed his name to PR Kadam but the character was loosely based on his life. He also added that he has known Mahavir Singh Phogat for many years and he has not even interfered in the training sessions given by him to Geeta and Babita even once and he does not get the fact that why his character was highlighted as a taskmaster. There were four other coaches as well but they were not shown in the film at all.
The 70-year-old former coach also mentioned further that “Distortion of facts has hurt my reputation. Once I watch the film, I will speak to the wrestling federation. I also plan to meet Aamir and seek an explanation.”
However, Sondhi also said that Aamir had only asked him general questions regarding wrestling when he met him but didn’t discuss anything else about the film.
And now looking at the current scenario would the Aamir Khan starrer film face any kind of turmoils in the future despite its immense success?
