Now, with its scattered business dominating the nation, Patanjali is all set to open its second largest production unit in Assam with a fund worth Rs. 1300 crores. The venture promoted by Yog Guru Baba Ramdev is seeking to hire almost 5,000 workers henceforth benefitting around 1 lakh farmers in the State. The foundation stone which got laid today in Sonitpur District of Balipara, Assam the manufacturing unit, has been named as Patanjali Herbal and Mega Food Park. The inauguration proceeded by Honourable Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal witnessed BJP Committee of Assam and thousands of supporters. The unit is most likely to begin from February 2017 thus recruiting around 5000 workers at the initial stage. According to Baba Ramdev, This Balipara unit of Patanjali will produce Rs. 20,000 crore annual production with an annual production capacity of around 12 lakh MT. We target to speed up our construction so as to open the Park formally on February 15, 2017. It will manufacture a wide range of consumer products such as cosmetics, nutritional foods and kitchen essentials among others. During the inaugural event, he continued to plead to the farmers especially local farmers to plant herbal as well as medicinal plants so that the entire product could be sold in the entire nation eventually benefitting themselves on a direct note. The sowing and reaping of products cultivated in the lands will be checked thoroughly by the expert team so that no damage is caused during the harvesting period. Rice being the staple food of the State, Ramdev urged local farmers to buy good quality seed and sow it so that even after the remaining husks, rice bran oil could b3e produced thus taking it entirely to a win-win situation for the farmers. Further, he even assured small scale industries, indulged in producing world renowned Assam tea, to be patient as in the next few months the firm would also invest in the growth and production of herbal and Green Tea so as to be exported in a global standard. The inauguration of the manufacturing unit by Assam CM in the presence of Baba Ramdev witnessed Bodoland Territorial Council Chief Hagrama Mohillary, who declared an allotment of 1,000 acres of land to Patanjali Ayurveda in Bodoland. He assured the people dwelling from that area to establish similar unit so that local people could avail the benefits henceforth creating a source of revenue generation as well as employment.
