The review of ‘Parched.’

The Indian drama film Parched has highlighted the agonies and pains of a woman’s life. And how difficult it gets for the women to reside in a village where there is no exposure to the modern world. Radhika Apte has stood out once again by portraying the character of a woman who is a victim of domestic violence. Her magnificentacting prowess has done wonders for all the moviegoers yet another time. While TannishthaChatterjee and Surveen Chawla did proper justice to the characters essayed by them. Right from forceful child marriages, marital rapes to domestic violence Rani, Lajjo and Bijli have witnessed and experienced it all. Bijli might satisfy the sexual desires of the men of the village, somewhere even she wants to break free from this life. Nevertheless, when these three women come to know about the agonies of each others’ lives, they get an urge to follow the path of peace and freedom.

What’s good

Leena Yadav’s perfect depiction of how a woman is still treated as a sex object will give you goosebumps throughout the movie. Radhika Apte has stood out as always in terms of acting skills. While Tannishtha Chatterjee’s character might leave you with misty eyes, and SurveenChawla brought out the utmost perfection of the character of a prostitute. Therefore, there are a lot of reasons for the moviegoers to hit the theatre to witness Parched.

What’s not

Leena Yadav’s Parched only focuses on the interior parts of India where circumstances such as demining a woman and treating her like a doormat are often witnessed. However, Parched does not touch the scenarios which are faced by women on a broader aspect. Nevertheless, apart from that, the movie has got no demerits.

Rating of ‘Parched.’

With a bold portrayal of a woman’s life, Parched will surely create an impact at the industry. Therefore, we at FabNewz have rated Parched as 3.5/5.
