Oneplus ‘s latest device has been launched into the market a few hours back, and the much hyped Oneplus 3T is now slated to do some serious damage in the market. The Oneplus 3T is an upgrade over the OnePlus 3 flagship device with amped up specifications incorporated in the new device.
In the announcement, OnePlus says software updates will follow the same schedule for both phones and is promising Android Nougat update on OnePlus 3, 3T later in the year. The blog post also says OnePlus 3T has “key improvements that couldn’t be pushed out through software update releases,” including the new Snapdragon 821 processor.

#Design and Display: The Oneplus 3T Sports a 5.5-inch fullHD AMOLED display with a 1920×1080 pixels resolution with 401 ppi pixel density. OnePlus is, again, using a home-brewed Optic AMOLED display panel here. The phone comes with curved 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top and sports a full metal unibody design.
The device measures 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.35 mm and it weighs 158 g similar to the Oneplus 3.
#Processor: The OnePlus 3T comes with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 processor. The processor’s two cores are clocked at 1.6GHz and two at 2.35GHz. It is coupled with Adreno 530 GPU
#Memory: Storage options for the oneplus 3T include 64GB or 128GB with UFS 2.0, but there is no option for expanding the onboard memory via SD cards. Like the Oneplus 3, the upgraded device also comes with 6GB LPDDR RAM.
#Software: The OnePlus 3T runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based OxygenOS out-of-the-box. The OS in the phone is almost stock Android with a few additions like Shelf recent apps, quick contacts aggregator and system-wide Dark Theme. Additionally, the good news on the software front is that all OnePlus 3 / 3T owners will finally receive the Android N (Nougat) update by the end of 2016.
#Rear Camera: The OnePlus 3T sports a 16-megapixel camera with Sony IMX 298 sensor with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, .12 µm pixel size and Optical Image Stabilisation. There’s PDAF, 4K video resolution as well Slow Motion (720p at 120fps). The camera also supports RAW Image and has a Sapphire crystal lens cover.
#Front Camera: The front camera for selfies and video calling has been bumped up in the OnePlus 3T and is now a 16MP one with the Samsung 3P8SP Sensor and 1.0 µm pixel size. It supports EIS, Auto-focus, PDAF, has an aperture of f/2.0 and will shoot 1080p video at 30fps.
The new device also comes with a bigger 3,400 mAh battery, a 13 percent increase on the 3,000 mAh offered by the previous incarnation. The OnePlus 3T supports the company’s very own Dash Charging feature, which is capable of charging the phone to up to 60 percent in just 30 minutes as well as a USB 2.0 Type-C charging port.
#The Oneplus 3T Sports a fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the display which the company claims, can unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds. The phone sports a Dual-nano SIM slot and 3.5 mm headphone jack as well.
#The Oneplus 3T is a 4G LTE (Cat 6) smartphone with support for Bands 1/2/4/5/8 in North America version. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou.

Oneplus 3T: Price and Availability
Available in soft gold and an all-new Gunmetal grey variant, the OnePlus 3T pretty much looks identical to the OnePlus 3 but has quite a number of specifications tweaked to make a better smartphone. However, only the Gunmetal option has a 128GB version. OnePlus says the 64GB Soft Gold edition of the OnePlus 3T will be available shortly after launch, while the Gunmetal version goes on sale on November 22 in the US and November 28 in the EU.
The OnePlus 3T starts at $439 (roughly Rs 29,782) for the 64GB version, while the high-end 128GB Gunmetal variant will cost buyers $479 (roughly Rs 32,495). The new phone is not listed on the India store yet, and it looks like this will take some time to come to India.
