
A OnePlus 3 ‘Soft Gold’ colour variant has been announced. The company is yet to inform when the new colour variant will be available in India. They simply said,“more information on the exact launch date for India soon.”The handset will be released in Europe, Canada, and Hong Kong on August 1.
In their forum, OnePlus says: “This isn’t your typical gaudy gold smartphone. We’ve toned the colour down for a light, elegant look. To complement this more low-profile take on gold, we went with a subtle texture reminiscent of holding fine, silky-soft sand. Press photos and product renders don’t do it justice; you’ll have to experience the OnePlus 3 Soft Gold for yourself to truly understand what sets it apart.”
OnePlus 3 was launched at Rs. 27,999 in India with onlyGraphite colour options. It features a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 401 pixels per inch. The handsetmeasures 152.70 x 74.70 x 7.35 and weighs 158.00 gm. It’spowered by 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and runs onAndroid 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It’sa dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts two Nano-SIM. And sports a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and 8-megapixelselfie snapper. Sensors on the phone include the Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, andProximity sensor. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, 3G, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India).

During the launch of the phone in India, it was available with a free 12-month subscription to Saavn Pro, and double data’ offer from Idea Cellular. Added to theses users could avail 12 months accidental damage coverage through the ‘OnePlus Care app’ which is powered by Servify.
OnePlus has informed they are currently working on their flagship series and will not be launching a follow-up of their budget device OnePlus X.
